Jack Lee

Jack Lee’s 25+ years of client-centric focus has made him a leader in the direct marketing industry. Jack founded AWI in 2001, when he set the mission for the company and continues to lead its execution as our President and CEO. He has successfully grown the company to where it is today – to be a leading, comprehensive extension of our clients’ marketing team.

Prior to founding AWI, Jack was an experienced executive responsible for bottom-line execution and direction of different business teams within several enterprises. His experience covers a diverse spectrum of disciplines, including product management, fulfillment, distribution, information systems, customer service, advertising, finance, and manufacturing. He began his career at Esquire, Inc., where he was regularly promoted, until a 200% growth rate earned him the title of Managing Director of the Leisure Group. At Gruner + Jahr USA Publishing, Jack was General Manager of the Direct Response Group, restoring profitability while growing revenue from $7 to $60 million dollars. Further, Jack successfully managed a $160MM operating unit within Donnelley Marketing, where his team launched 20 new products and exceeded sales forecasts by 22%.

Jack is deeply involved in the Direct Marketing community, serving as an active member of the Direct Marketing Association, the National Premium Sales Executives Association and the Fulfillment Management Association. He also served as a board member on the DMA’s List & Database Council. He has been a guest speaker at multiple DMA functions and was a guest instructor at the Center for Direct Marketing, NYU School of Continuing Education.

Rob Brickley

Rob Brickley has been helping direct marketers achieve success for over 25 years. Rob is AWI’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, leading the team responsible for generating new business, while also heading up the marketing of our products and services. Rob has played an integral role in our evolution and success, including the development of our Data and List Management division. His experience and expertise in database marketing, analytics and information management make him a valuable resource at AWI.

Prior to joining the company, Rob fostered a reputation as a successful sales leader that built and mentored new business development teams at major corporations. He began his career at TRW Information Systems (now Experian), where he was a top performer on the National Accounts team. He later joined First Data Corporation’s new start-up division (CCA), where he helped build their financial vertical sales channel. He continued within the FDC brand of companies, moving to Donnelley Marketing, where he spent 8.5 years in sales and management. He followed this success by becoming Vice President of Direct Sales at MH2 Direct, where he focused on delivering analytic and custom modeling solutions for large direct marketing clients. Rob’s experience with major financial, catalog, retail, and hotel and hospitality brands offers a level of expertise that benefits our entire client portfolio.

Susan Serwan

Susan Serwan provides the financial insight, reporting and direction that AWI has grown to rely upon as our business has expanded. As our Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations, Susan plays an integral role on the AWI team, contributing ideas and recommendations for operational efficiencies and staying abreast of the latest rulings and legislation that impact our clients, while being a key leader in our strategic planning process. After graduating from Hofstra University, Susan began her accounting career in 1991 as an Internal Auditor at American International Group (AIG). During her tenure there, she served as an Audit Supervisor, where she developed and assessed internal control procedures and policies. In 2003, she joined 55 Bryant Group as the Financial Controller of Worldcom Title Corp., Gosman Law and Elements Magazine. While she works predominately behind the scenes at AWI, Susan is a trusted advisor, supporting those that directly support our clients.

Steve Hill

Steve Hill, Manager of Data Quality, is an expert at knowing how to optimize new customer acquisition. He joined AWI in 2008, where he has been successfully helping our clients find the best leads and lists for their multi-channel prospecting campaigns. Steve manages data quality for lead generation, e-mail append and postal acquisition. Steve came to AWI with experience based on his days in the direct response industry as an Account Manager for several well-known companies. Steve spent five years managing accounts such as AARP, Citi Group, North American Affinity and Scholastic at Clark Macakin (now Direct Media). While there, Steve was responsible for understanding a client’s profile, then canvassing the market to find the best lists to fit those attributes given the product offer. Steve managed the entire process, from recommendation to procurement, closed-loop reporting and performance assessment. Steve’s real-world experience, coupled with his degree in business and marketing from Marist College, makes him a valuable member of the AWI team.

Jose Zaldivar

Jose Zaldivar comes to Andrews Wharton, Inc. with over 27 years of experience in the direct marketing industry. As Director of New Business Development, Jose is responsible for new client acquisition and data licensing. In addition, Jose oversees several strategic national accounts for AWI, including several nationally recognized brands in retail, home services and the email marketing industry. Prior to joining AWI, Jose was a National Sales Executive at Valassis, Inc., where he partnered with national mailers to develop comprehensive recommendations that optimized response rates for their marketing campaigns. He previously served as Sales Manager for Getko Direct Response/Welcome Wagon International, where he was responsible for a team of sales executives that managed the Welcome Wagon New Homeowners database, the Welcome Wagon Package, and the Especially For You insert programs. Jose maintains active involvement in several community service organizations.

Terri D’Aquila

Terri D’Aquila joined AWI in 2006 and has increased her responsibilities over the years to become our Director of Operations in 2015, where she serves as the primary point of contact for clients and data partners. Her methodical approach to developing customized list recommendations that yield great results for our clients, as well as her organizational skills used for controlling the processing and fulfillment of orders, is invaluable to the company. Prior to joining AWI, Terri worked as a Systems Engineer in the defense industry. She holds a master’s degree in operations research from Columbia University.

Doug Carpenter

Doug Carpenter is our newest addition to the AWI team, joining us as Director, Interactive & Digital Services. Coming into this role, Doug brings along a wealth of email marketing and direct marketing experience, having spent over 20 years of his career honing his skills in these areas. Most recently, Doug led the email services offering for Affinity Solutions, where he and his team were responsible for delivering email campaigns for Affinity’s banking, financial services and retail clientele. He cut his teeth seven years earlier at Anchor Computer, where he learned hands-on all of the aspects need to successfully deploy an email campaign, from securing all of the images and URLs, to reviewing creative and ensuring compliance with CAN-SPAM, through deployment and backend measurement and reporting. While at Market Builders Direct/Benchmark Data, Doug was the champion that launched the company into the direct marketing space. Doug’s entrepreneurial attitude and his ability to implement digital programs from the ground up will benefit our entire client community, whether it’s their first dip into digital marketing waters or their hundredth campaign and are now looking to expand into social and online targeted communication.
